Senate Confirms McIntyre's Appointment to Education Security Board
The U.S. Senate has unanimously confirmed the appointment of Dr. David H. McIntyre, director of the Integrative Center for Homeland Security at Texas A&M University, to the National Security Education Board.

COLLEGE STATION, Oct. 14, 2008 - The U.S. Senate has unanimously confirmed
the appointment of Dr. David H. McIntyre, director of the Integrative Center
for Homeland Security at Texas A&M University, to the National Security
Education Board. President Bush nominated McIntyre in July.

McIntyre also serves as director of the graduate-level Certificate for
Homeland Security program at the George Bush School of Government and Public
Service. The National Security Education Board oversees the National
Security Education Program, which administers grants and programs to
encourage international studies. The program enhances the nation's ability
to deal with foreign cultures and languages by delivering a steady supply of
workers who are skilled in these areas.

Board membership comprises seven Cabinet-level representatives from the
Departments of Defense, State, Education, Commerce, Energy, National
Intelligence, and the National Endowment for the Humanities, plus six
non-federal members appointed by the president with Senate confirmation. The
board meets periodically in Washington , D.C.

The Senate confirmed McIntyre's appointment on Oct. 1.
