The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum presents the annual Children's Costume Contest and Trick-or-Treating Halloween event. This free event is from 3-6 p.m. and is for children 12 and under.

The Star of the Republic Museum will present Night at the Star of the Republic Museum on Saturday, November 1 between 7 – 9 p.m., when the lights will go down and the museum’s exhibits will come to life. Explore the museum by flashlight—but BEWARE of what’s around the corner! This is a fun way to learn about Texas history from real live costumed characters who step out of the exhibits to tell their story. The admission fee is $5/adults, $3/students and free to anyone with a current Blinn College ID. Visitors are encouraged to bring a flashlight.

Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site will celebrate the 177
th Texas Independence Day, Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, from 10:00 a.m. til 5:00 p.m., featuring live performances and music, period craft demonstrations, and commemorative programs.
