Friends Association of the Symphony Orchestra presents "Dressed to a Tea"

Imagine white linen table cloths, fine china, delicious plated savories and sweets . . . all the while socializing with your friends, viewing the latest fashions, and indulging in your choice of teas. The Friends Association of the Symphony Orchestra (FASO) is pleased to present this unique fall fundraiser. “Dressed to a Tea” is an afternoon tea and fashion show that will feature fashions from Charli, Little Red Schoolhouse, Morgan Fitzgerald’s and Witt’s End. Also featured will be a silent auction of hand painted teapots by talented local artists. FASO’s afternoon tea event will raise money for the Brazos Valley Symphony’s educational programs for children. Please join us!

Brazos Valley Symphony presents "European Romance"

he Symphony’s 31st season kicks off with Rossini’s sparkling overture from The Barber of Seville—opera’s quintessential comedy. Internationally acclaimed pianist, Inon Barnatan, described by The New Yorker as “a player of uncommon sensitivity”, joins the orchestra in performing Saint-Saëns’ emotionally charged Piano Concerto No. 2. Rounding out this European tour of composers, Maestro Bussiki and the orchestra will close with Brahms’ hauntingly romantic, Symphony No. 4. Don’t miss this exciting concert featuring orchestral classics and a piano superstar!

The 18-hole Championship golf course, designed for both challenge and enjoyment by nationally recognized golf course architect Ken Dye, brings out the best in players of all skill levels, while leaving the best of nature in play.

Mr. Dye’s expertise and artistry have produced a series of 18 unique holes, each with its own natural features. Lakes, creeks and woodlands provide a beautiful backdrop and blend with the course design to produce a unique golf experience in the Brazos Valley.

Guitar and bandoneon super-duo, Giampaolo Bandini and Cesare Chiacchiaretta travel from Italy to join the Brazos Valley Symphony in presenting two of Piazzolla’s distinctive and highly nuanced compositions. Brazos Valley Symphony's Premiere Market

With the Easter, graduation, and early holiday gift giving season approaching, the Brazos Valley Symphony presents its inaugural Premiere Market, the only upscale juried market in the seven county Brazos Valley area. The 2013 Premiere Market will be held March 22 and 23 with a preview party the evening of the 21st at the popular Brazos Center exhibition complex in Bryan/College Station.

The Market features unique merchants selling specialty items, home accessories, clothing, gourmet foods, jewelry and much more. Ticket prices are $6 each (or $5 with coupon) and good for both FRIDAY and SATURDAY Shopping. Premiere Market hours are as follows: Friday, March 22, 10am to 6pm, and Saturday, March 23, 10am to 3pm.

All proceeds go to benefit the cultural and educational programs of the Brazos Valley Symphony, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) arts organization.

Brazos Valley Symphony presents "Mystical Tales"

Music Director Marcelo Bussiki crosses musical borders with dramatic works by English, Chinese and Russian composers, beginning with one of Elgar’s Enigma Variations. Grand Prize Winner of the 2011 Juanita Miller Concerto Competition, cellist Russell Houston, performs Tan Dun’s Crouching Tiger Concerto based on the Oscar® winning score from the Oscar® winning film: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Inspired by the imaginative tales of the The Arabian Nights, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade brings the Brazos Valley Symphony season to a magical close.

Note: This concert is on a Saturday evening instead of Sunday.
