Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a "dry" spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college—a thriller which Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway hit. Sidney's plan, which he devises with his wife's help, is to offer collaboration to the student, an idea which the younger man quickly accepts. The suspense mounts steadily as the plot begins to twist and turn until the final, startling moments of the play. Performances Thu 7:30pm, Fri & Sat 8:00pm, Sun 4:00pm. This eloquent, profoundly moving drama tells the story of Jessie and her mother, Thelma, who live together in a small, isolated country house, and the events of one shattering evening. Unity Theatre presents "I Hate Hamlet"

Thursday 7:30 PM, Friday/Saturday 8 PM, Sunday 4 PM

Unity Theatre, 300 Church St., Downtown Brenham
Andrew Rally seems to have it all: celebrity and acclaim from his starring role in the hit TV series LA Medical; a rich, beautiful girlfriend; a glamorous, devoted agent; the perfect gothic New York apartment; and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park. However, Andrew's series has been canceled; his girlfriend is clinging to her chastity with unyielding conviction; and he hates Hamlet! When his agent visits him, she reminisces about her brief romance with John Barrymore many years ago, in Andrew's apartment. This prompts a seance to summon his ghost. From the moment Barrymore returns, dressed in high Shakespearean garb, Andrew's life is no longer his own. Performances Thu 7:30pm, Fri & Sat 8:00pm, Sun 4:00pm. Call the box office for ticket prices and reservations.

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Paul just doesn't understand Corie, as she sees it. He's too staid, too boring and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous, like running "barefoot in the park.”

StageCenter Theatre, 26th & Bryan Ave, Downtown Bryan
A group of strangers, one of whom is a murderer, are stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm. The suspects include the newly married couple who run the house, and the suspicions that are in their minds nearly wreck their perfect marriage. Others are a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. He no sooner arrives, than the jurist is killed. Two down, and one to go. To get to the rationale of the murderer's pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present, and rattles a lot of skeletons.
