Don't Let the Crayons Quit! Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble Storytime

Barnes & Noble, 711 Texas Avenue, College Station, TX 77840
The battle lines have been drawn…

Blue, Red, and Gray feel terribly overworked. Beige, Black, Pink, and White feel very under-utilized. And Yellow and Orange just aren’t getting along. We need your help! Join the effort by meeting us at four special Storytimes this month when we come together as a community to convince the Crayons not to quit!

Green needs us to help Yellow and Orange! Meet at the "Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble" Storytime and show these feuding Crayons your support by resolving their dispute over the true color of the sun. Customers will also be invited to create a letter, make a list, draw or color a picture and place it in the Support the Crayons! Message Box.

In Company with Angels: Seven Rediscovered Tiffany Windows

2nd floor, MSC, Forsyth Galleries, College Station, Texas
In Company with Angels: Seven Rediscovered Tiffany Windows showcases the stained glass artistry of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The windows were commissioned for Cincinnati’s Church of the New Jerusalem in 1902, and feature seven angels who represent seven churches. In 1964, the church was demolished and the windows were packed away and forgotten until 2001, when they were rediscovered. Under the skilled direction of stained glass expert Arthur Femenella, the windows were restored in 2004 to their original majesty. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a magnificent exhibition!

Eagle's Nest Praise & Worship Ministries Prayer Line

(979) 775-1513
Eagle's Nest Prayer Line will be opened every Tuesday, 6:30-7:30PM. The prayer line number is 979-775-1513

Sometimes life circumstances can feel very overwhelming. Even though God is with you in every moment, it can be very comforting and reassuring to be reminded of that truth, and to hear a loving voice offer prayer support. "What one heart cannot bear alone, many hearts can bear together."

If you would like prayer for healing, prosperity, job, inner peace, guidance, receiving Christ, etc., please call. The phone will be answered by a trained ministry associate. Even if you aren't sure what area you need prayer for, as the prayer ministry associate is listening, they will know what area to direct your prayer and pray with you. The prayer line is available at no charge. Call and receive your blessing through prayer.

Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery

All Day

George Bush Presidential Library and Museum
George Bush was a successful and pioneering Texas oilman, first on land and then offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. As a tribute to his role in the development and use of the innovative independent leg offshore jack-up rig Scorpion launched by LeTourneau in 1956, the exhibit tells the story of offshore drilling. It focuses on the history, development and future of offshore drilling, with an emphasis on the work of George Bush, emerging technologies and ongoing research at Texas A&M University.

With Shell as title sponsor and supporting sponsorships from Ensco, Schlumberger and Move Resource Group, the exhibit covers all aspects of the search for oil offshore, with a special look at the geology of finding oil, focusing on exploration of the Gulf of Mexico. Industry pioneers recount their personal experiences. Visitors will be taken from start to finish — developing the "play" to platform production — via an interactive display.

A video wall highlights careers and life on board a rig. See models of the various rigs, platforms and supply vessels that are used in the industry, and pieces of drilling equipment. Additional exhibits feature Smart Gulf and Scientific Research from Texas A&M University.

Expertise for the exhibit has been provided by our partnerships with The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum; Texas A&M University through the College of Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Integrated Ocean Drilling Program, Department of Oceanography and Offshore Technology Research; LeTourneau University and PennWell.
