First Annual Joel New Memorial Ride
Riding for Payden Nicholas Patterson
Payden is the 8.5 year old son of Melissa Owens and the grandson of Eddy Owens of Cameron and Gay Owens of Rockdale. His great grandmother is Helen Gary of Rockdale. Payden and his twin brother were born 8 weeks early. Due to complications at birth he has experienced multiple hospital stays and many surgeries. Payden is progressing into end stage renal failure. He is waiting on a kidney transplant, there are no more options, and his days are filled with breathing treatments, chest treatments, catheterizations, medications, injections, nursing care, supplements, and lots of LOVE. A kidney transplant is necessary for his survival as he continues to change the world without ever speaking a word. Every second is a win, every day is a quest to make the unexpected miracles along the way an integral part of... possibilities.

Woman 2 Woman 2014: "The Love Experience"
Brazos Community Outreach Center, 2110 Old Hearne Road, Bryan, Texas
W2W 2014 Theme: The Love Experience
History/Vision of W2W:
There is a growing issue in our community amongst women of all ages. Our communities are starving for women in our community to provide positive models for our young women to follow. Our young women think it’s acceptable to degrade each other and allow others to degrade them to be accepted. Women are allowing men to use and abuse them, giving them a false sense of acceptance, love, and support. Judging one another has become so prevalent among women of all ages that there is not a genuine sense of trust. Overall, in order to be accepted or deemed beautiful, many women are gaining a false sense of beauty, therefore lowering expectations of themselves and others.
The vision of W2W is to uncover the underlying facets of these issues by identifying the root of the problem, inform women of all aspects and views, and work together to overcome, reform, and empower.
Woman 2 Woman is a day of empowerment for women ages 13 and older. The purpose of this conference is to inspire, respire, and rebuild women and strengthen relationships across generations of women within our community.

In Company with Angels: Seven Rediscovered Tiffany Windows
2nd floor, MSC, Forsyth Galleries, College Station, Texas
In Company with Angels: Seven Rediscovered Tiffany Windows showcases the stained glass artistry of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The windows were commissioned for Cincinnati’s Church of the New Jerusalem in 1902, and feature seven angels who represent seven churches. In 1964, the church was demolished and the windows were packed away and forgotten until 2001, when they were rediscovered. Under the skilled direction of stained glass expert Arthur Femenella, the windows were restored in 2004 to their original majesty. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a magnificent exhibition!

Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery
George Bush Presidential Library and Museum
George Bush was a successful and pioneering Texas oilman, first on land and then offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. As a tribute to his role in the development and use of the innovative independent leg offshore jack-up rig Scorpion launched by LeTourneau in 1956, the exhibit tells the story of offshore drilling. It focuses on the history, development and future of offshore drilling, with an emphasis on the work of George Bush, emerging technologies and ongoing research at Texas A&M University.
With Shell as title sponsor and supporting sponsorships from Ensco, Schlumberger and Move Resource Group, the exhibit covers all aspects of the search for oil offshore, with a special look at the geology of finding oil, focusing on exploration of the Gulf of Mexico. Industry pioneers recount their personal experiences. Visitors will be taken from start to finish — developing the "play" to platform production — via an interactive display.
A video wall highlights careers and life on board a rig. See models of the various rigs, platforms and supply vessels that are used in the industry, and pieces of drilling equipment. Additional exhibits feature Smart Gulf and Scientific Research from Texas A&M University.
Expertise for the exhibit has been provided by our partnerships with The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum; Texas A&M University through the College of Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Integrated Ocean Drilling Program, Department of Oceanography and Offshore Technology Research; LeTourneau University and PennWell.
