Be Brave 24 is a unique 5k endurance and adventure race series designed to promote fitness and healthy living for the entire family. The race showcases 24 different obstacles and was inspired by children who fight cancer 24 hours a day. The Crucible obstacle course, designed with military-themed challenges, provides an opportunity to test each participant’s strength and will, rather than speed. In the race, they will navigate, among other obstacles, challenges, tunnels, scaling walls and trenches. Be Brave 24 will donate 24% of entry fees, sales of merchandise and sales of food and beverage to the Max Cure Foundation (MCF), a 501(c)(3) national public charity dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer. 12 families who have children fighting cancer at Children’s Blood & Cancer Center at Dell Children’s in Austin and Texas Children’s Cancer Center in Houston will directly benefit from the race. MCF will also donate a portion of the funds to the Psychosocial program at the Children’s Blood & Cancer Center at Dell Children’s Hospital. This program benefits children battling cancer and their families. The Max Cure Foundation is dedicated to advancing cures for pediatric cancers and funding the development of less toxic treatments for children with cancer. MCF also provides financial support through its Roar Beyond Barriers program to both low-income and military families who have children battling cancer. Children’s Blood & Cancer Center at Dell Children’s and Texas Children’s Cancer Center in Houston will benefit from the race. Sponsors to date of the Be Brave 24 Austin race include; Dunkin Donuts, CYC Fitness and Train 4.
