Lights On! in Downtown Bryan

Come to Downtown Bryan for the annual Lighting of Downtown on November 20! There will be photos with Santa, a Frozen themed Bounce House, and a kids crafts on 26th Street next to the Palace Theater in Downtown Bryan! The Woman's Club will be handing out their delicious cookies for free as well as hot chocolate!

A Night to Paws

Miller's Theatre
The City of Navasota Animal Shelter is partnering with Miller’s Theatre to bring you “A Night to Paws” on December 3rd from 5:30 – 8pm. This event will highlight and celebrate adopted pets and the efforts of the Navasota Animal Shelter who works daily towards getting our four legged friends into forever homes. Miller’s Theatre is hosting the event and will show the movie Marley & Me along with provide popcorn and a drink with the cost of admission. Tickets to “A Night to Paws” will be available beginning November 16th for $10 at the Navasota City Hall, Grimes County Chamber of Commerce and Miller’s Theatre. All proceeds for this event will benefit the Navasota Animal Shelter.

Living History Re-enactors to Highlight Holiday Celebration at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site

Holiday Time is Family Time - Fanthorp celebrates the holiday season with a journey back to the 1850’s on the evening of Saturday November 28th, 2015. The old stagecoach Inn will be open for a special Twilight/Firelight holiday event. Visitors will enjoy the ambiance of the candle lit Inn, period music, stagecoach rides, chuck wagon cooking, carol singing and a host of living history characters.

Activities begin at the Grimes county courthouse in Anderson where visitors board a replica stagecoach or carriage for a ride down Main Street to Fanthorp Inn. Upon arrival visitors will meet their hosts from 1850, Henry and Rachel Fanthorp, along with, cowboys, travelers from the 1800’s and personalities who will entertain with stories, music, wassail and good cheer. The atmosphere of the Inn and living history personalities brings the holiday season of 1850 to life.

So take a break from the hectic holiday pace and re-focus on your family and friends at Fanthorp Inn’s Twilight/Firelight celebration! Suggested ticket donations are $ 6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 12 and under. No reservations are required as tickets are available near the Courthouse parking area from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

New Year's Eve Gala at Festival Hill

Round Top Festival Institute announces a "Midnight in Paris" theme for its New Year's Eve Gala with a classic pink and black color scheme. Festivities begin at 7:00 PM in the Menke House Parlours with champagne and light appetizers, followed by a fabulous buffet dinner served with complimentary wine at 8:00 PM in the Menke House Dining Room.

The Party continues with music and dancing on the Festival Concert Hall Stage at 9:00 PM with your favorite songs and requests played by DJ Walter McClellan with Toast Entertainment (, rated among the top 5 DJ groups in Austin. Cash bar will feature Champagne, Beer, Wine, Setups, coffee and water. Last call at 12:30 AM.

At midnight, enjoy complimentary Champagne Toast and singing of Auld Lang Syne with friends. Party continues until 1:00 AM.

Enjoy a New Year's Day Brunch with James Dick, Founder and Artistic Director of Round Top Festival Institute, served in the Menke House Dining Room from 10 AM to 1 PM.
