Fused glass is the art of designing glass pieces that will be fired in a kiln melting the glass together. In this class you will chose different colored glass and create a design to form a 6x6 bowl. You will learn the basic instructions on how to cut glass and use of all the tools which we will supply. No experience is necessary. Come prepared for fun and good food!

Basic AR / AK class

This course is for the new shooter who wishes to establish a solid foundation of basic skills so they can efficiently and accurately employ the AR or AK style rifle or carbine for home defense, competition, or as a fighting rifle when the need arises. Many shooters have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on “Advanced” or “Tactical” courses and later realized they would have gotten much more from the course if they had a better foundation of Basic Skills. It is also very appropriate for experienced shooters who are new to the platform or wish to improve, refresh, or reinforce their basic skills so they can better handle their firearm in a high-stress incident. Students will depart the course with a thorough understanding of the AR/AK weapon and valuable knowledge of how to setup, employ, and maintain their weapon and how to conduct their own training in a safe, efficient manner. The skills taught in this course follow the same principles and fundamentals used by our nation’s finest warriors.

Class size: - Maximum 10 students
Who can attend: This course is open to all U.S. citizens aged 18 or older who can legally possess a firearm.
Training Schedule: Please arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. Training begins at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m. There will be several short breaks during the day and 30 minutes for lunch.
It is recommended that you wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, ball cap or hat, and appropriate footwear for walking, as there is a moderate amount of walking done during this course. A range bag or backpack will be helpful. Camelbacks are OK.

• AR / AK operation
• Assembly / Disassembly
• Cleaning and Lubrication
• Load / Unload / Clear
• Ammunition Selection
• Zero with Iron Sights and Optics
• Marksmanship Fundamentals

What you will need for the course:
• Serviceable AR or AK style weapon with iron sights and all applicable manuals and instructions for reference

• Two magazines minimum (5 is better, call before you buy)
• Cleaning kit
• Sling (optional)
• 100 rounds of factory loaded non-penetrator ammo (no green tip, no armor piercing, no tracer)
• Ballistic Eye protection (clear and tinted)
• Hearing protection (recommend foamies and muffs)
• Multi-tool (Leatherman, Gerber, etc) (recommended)
• Method of carrying a spare magazine (call before you buy)
• Water, snacks, lunch

Combat Rifle and Pistol Class

This training is for the Armed Citizen or Military / Law Enforcement Professional who wishes to improve basic skills so they can safely and efficiently engage targets from 1 to 150 yards with the Rifle/Carbine using different positions in both Offensive and Defensive situations. Focus is on the carbine at greater than pistol range, with transition to the pistol when appropriate. This is excellent training for almost any type rifle/carbine – ARs, AKs, Garands, Lever Actions – all are welcome. If you plan to use it to defend yourself, bring it. This training will make you better. Handguns are not required for this class – If you have a pistol to transition to, fine, if not, then work the carbine.
Prerequisites: If you would like to attend this training it is recommended that you:
Know how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the firearm.
Know how to safely load, fire, unload/clear the firearm.
Be proficient with FIREARMS SAFETY and gun handling (Know the rules and understand them)
Understand how to zero the firearm and whatever sights/optic is mounted on it (and have it zeroed)
Be familiar with the Fundamentals of Marksmanship
Cost: $180
Time: Training begins at 8:00 am and will end around 4:00 pm. Please arrive at the range between 7:30 and 7:50 so we can start on time.

• 350 rounds of factory loaded non-penetrator ammo (no green tip or Armor Piercing or tracer) for rifle / carbine – round count will be less for .308s, Lever Guns, etc
• Serviceable handgun, holster, 3 x magazines, mag pouch (no cross draw, shoulder holsters, or universal holsters allowed) and 100 rounds handgun ammo
• Ballistic Eye protection (clear and tinted)
• Hearing protection (electronic recommended)
• Method of carrying at least one spare rifle magazine

• Sunscreen and bug spray (recommended)

The Brazos Valley African American Museum will be hosting a free credit seminar given by The First National Bank of Huntsville. This event will be held at the BVAAM 500 E. Pruitt Street, Bryan, TX, on Thursday, July 19 from 6PM to 7PM. The public is invited to attend.
The seminar will focus on the obtaining a better understanding of your credit. It will offer how to get the credit report, free of charge, how to read and understand the report, how to dispute errors on the report and why your credit score is important in many ways, not just when you need a loan. Scotty’s House Child Advocacy Center will host the Darkness to Light program at its facility, located at 2424 Kent Street in Bryan.
The program is free and open to any concerned citizen, but registration is required.
Darkness to Light is a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the incidents of child sexual abuse by shifting the responsibility from children to adults. This is accomplished through an award winning media campaign which raises public awareness and directs adults to educational tools that will educate them on how to prevent, recognize and respond to sexual child abuse and motivate them to courageous action.
