2013 Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Conference

On Friday, June 7th, the Alzheimer’s Association – Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter will present a caregiver conference featuring author Janet Edmunson from 10:00am -1:00pm in the Fellowship Hall at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station. Janet Edmunson is the author of “Finding Meaning with Charles,” a book about her journey as a caregiver for her husband Charles, who was diagnosed with a progressive, degenerative neurological disease at the age of 45. Prior to the author’s talk, there will be a Caregiver Panel with local caregivers and professionals, on the topic of creating meaningful moments with persons with dementia, and finding strength-based activities to improve quality of life for both the diagnosed individual and their caregivers.

This 2-day conference is different from any other conference in Texas!! The EVET conference is organized and coordinated by a diverse group of over 30 Brazos Valley professionals who all come in contact with crime victims in their daily life. You can see all the committee members and their agencies on the about us tab.

EVET is unique in that we offer instruction and specific victim training for professionals working in the fields of law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, social work, probation departments, medical field, child care agencies, healthcare agencies, mental health field, education, community advocacy - any and all professionals who may come into contact with a crime victim. We pride ourselves in providing outstanding, nationally recognized training at the lowest cost possible. This year the registration fee is $30 per person and that includes training, lunch both days and a t-shirt. Hurry and get your registration turned in on or before March 1st for this price!!

2013 commemorates the 7th annual Every Victim, Every Time conference. Last year we had over 400 attendees and we are excited for another great year of training. Women Striving for Excellence in Christ: Woman's Conference 2012

Pastor Joe Walker and the members of King's Gate Community cordially invite you to join us in celebrating our first annual women's conference entitled: "Women Striving for Excellence in Christ" on Saturday, November 17, 2012. The conference will be held at: Quality Inn & Suites; located at 1027 N. Earl Ruddey Fwy., in Bryan, (on the feeder road where the old DPS office was located). There will be four (4) dynamic speakers empowered and waiting to share a word from God that will Refresh, Renew, and Revise those thirsty souls. The guest speaker will be: Dr. Freema Ervin from Houston, Texas. Registration: will be from 9:30 - 10:15am in the Hotel lobby and is $20/person, which includes two (2) meals and conference material.
