Bowling Buddies Fundraiser
Apr 28, 2013 Registration begins at 12 PM, Tournament begins at 1 PM
Grand Station Entertainment Center
2400 Earl Rudder Freeway S
College Station, TX 77840
The Arc of Bryan/College Station is having The Arc 2013 Bowling Buddies Fundraiser and kindly requests your support. This event is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Grand Station Entertainment Center. At the fundraiser we will pair a couple of our members with disabilities with "Buddies" from the community to make up the bowling team.
The Arc of Bryan/College Station is a non-profit organization established in the early 1960's to support individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. We provide educational, enrichment and/or social events each month throughout the year. During the summer we also provide a Summer Program for our clients who do not work during this period. We act as an extended family for those individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities who live in our community.
We anticipate 160 bowling participants for the 2013 Bowling Buddies Fundraiser. If you are interested in supporting this event, we offer the Sponsorship opportunities found on the enclosed form. Along with the bowling, we will also have a raffle and silent auction.
We depend on our membership and the generosity of the community to fund our programs and goals. Without the help of the community, it would not be possible to provide these different activities for our members. The Arc of Bryan/College Station is a total volunteer run and supported group; therefore, 100% of funds collected from our fundraisers and donations stay in the local area to provide education, enrichment and social activities for special needs citizens and their families within our Brazos Valley Community.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to call our 2013 President, John Herrera at 979-599-3303 or Paula Etheridge at 979-255-5955.

Mar 26, 2013 Doors open at 7 PM, Program starts at 7:30 PM
Hope Pregnancy Centers of Brazos Valley
205 Brentwood Drive

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the program starting at 7:30 p.m. A book signing and CD sales will follow the event.
Commenting on the event, Tracy Frank, Executive Director of Hope Pregnancy Center, said, "Our goal is to increase awareness and support for the vital work we do in the community - all free of charge for those who may be facing a crisis pregnancy. This event will bring together a father and son team who will deliver a powerful message of life, hope and inspiration.
Table sponsorships are available and include seating for 10, recognition in the program, and two tickets for a private reception with Tony and Anthony Evans prior to the event. Free open seating is also available, but reservations are required. More information and registration is available at www.partnerwithhope.org or by calling the center at 695-9193.
About Tony Evans: Dr. Tony Evans is one of the country’s most respected leaders in evangelical circles. As a pastor, teacher, author and speaker, he serves the body of Christ through his unique ability to communicate complex theological truths through simple, yet profound, illustrations. While addressing the practical issues of today, Dr. Evans is known as a relevant expositor. New and veteran pastors alike regard him as a pastor of pastors and a father in the faith.
Through his local church and national ministry Dr. Evans promotes a Kingdom agenda philosophy that teaches God’s comprehensive rule over every sphere of life as demonstrated through the individual, family, church and society.
This philosophy connects biblical spirituality with social responsibility. Dr. Evans teaches the church, not the government, is the best social service delivery system since it is closer to the needs of the people, offers the largest potential volunteer force, has facilities for outreach programs, and provides a moral and spiritual frame of reference for making right choices.
About Anthony Evans: In 2001 Christian music gained a new voice when legendary innovator Kirk Franklin asked Anthony Evans to join his ministry. Evans harmonized with his mentor and friend for four extraordinary years, until the rhythm his own maturing music set in motion a solo career. Now, for a decade, Anthony has voiced the Gospel with such a melodic, thought-provoking style that he has immerged as one of Christian music’s premiere male vocalists …and worship leaders.
As a live performer, Evans has shared the stage with such talents as Yolanda Adams, David Phelps, FFH and Natalie Grant. And as a composer/ artist, Anthony’s crossover music has vibrated both the doors of the church and beyond.
About Hope: Hope Pregnancy Center of the Brazos Valley is a faith-based, non-profit organization providing a safe and confidential refuge for those in crisis. Services (all of which are free) include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, peer options counseling, parenting and life skills classes, and material aid based on an “earn while you learn” system.

Calvert 12th Annual Victorian Tea and Gala and Vintage Parade
Oct 6, 2012 Parade 11 AM, Gala 7 PM
Calvert, Texas
Come join us for the 12th Annual Calvert Victorian Garden Tea and Gala fundraiser!
This fun and festive weekend starts on Saturday at 11:00 am with our first-ever Vintage Parade. Do you have an antique or vintage conveyance (car, tractor, wagon, horse, foot)? Then we want YOU to come be a part of our Vintage Parade! Even if you can’t be a participant in the parade, you won’t want to miss this dazzling spectacle. We will have vintage conveyances of all kinds, including cars, tractors, trucks, wagons, horses, mules and, of course, on foot! We are delighted to announce that the Texas Ladies Aside will be participating in the parade this year. The Texas Ladies Aside, the Official Equestrian Drill Team of Texas, is a unique group of women who for the last 25 years, ride only Peruvian horses and they ride them in sidesaddle. The Texas Ladies Aside have performed in front of audiences exhibiting the grace and elegance of sidesaddle riding and the spirit and animation of our laterally gaited Peruvian Horses. From as far north as Calgary, Canada, to the National Show in Lima, Peru, to the Rose Bowl Parade in California, and Rodeo Houston, the Texas Ladies Aside have ridden and loved performing for audiences of all ages. Please check out website: texasladiesaside.com for more information. At the end of the parade, the participants will be able to park around the block belonging to the Chamber so we can get a good luck at them and also watch the Texas Ladies Aside perform. What a treat!
After the parade, you will have the afternoon free to browse our wonderful shops and eat in one of our great restaurants.
Saturday evening, step back into the past with at our glamorous Gala, 7:00 – 10:30 pm – Historic Virginia at Virginia Field Park Pavilion with Victorian era culinary delights, dancing and live music by the delightful Celtaire String Band (www.CeltaireStringBand.biz). Don’t know how to dance? No problem! There will be simple dance instructions provided with the songs. Participate in the colorful Costume Contest with prizes awarded. You will rediscover the fun of “dressing up”! Victorian attire is not required but definitely encouraged. This is a formal event so you will want to be sure to dress accordingly regardless of the era! Be sure to bring your camera because you will want to take pictures of the gorgeous gowns and hats.
Sunday Morning 11:00 am — Hayride Tour — See highlights of Calvert’s 47-block historic district (third largest in Texas) listed on the National Historic Registry. A mix of cotton plantation owners, Western-moving entrepreneurs, and railroad workers gave Calvert a wonderfully varied architectural history. You will be amazed!
Afternoon Tea – 2:30 – 4:00 pm – Sumptuous afternoon tea featuring home-baked sweet and savory delicacies offered by a staff of Victorian servers on the lawn of the historic Barton-Satterwhite home. Enjoy live chamber music, try your hand at a game of English croquet on the lawn and enter our tea hat contest (Red Hatters welcome!) at the Barton-Satterwhite Home (1909-1910). We will have a few select vendors for your shopping pleasure. After tea tour the charming restored cottage located on the property. You will want to wear your best tea finery!
Cost of the Gala is $65 and the Tea is $35. Take advantage of a $10.00 savings when you attend both events. You may download your reservation form from www.CalvertTx.com and send the completed form along with your payment to Calvert Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 132, Calvert, TX 77837.
If you have questions or want more information, visit our Chamber website, www.CalvertTx.com, our event website, www.victoriancalvert.com, or feel free to phone (979)314-9155. If we don’t answer right away please do leave a message so we can get back to you as quickly as possible.
