Master Gardener Class

The Grimes County Master Gardeners will host a certified Master Gardener class starting August 26 and running through November 18, 2014 for those interested in advancing their gardening skills and knowledge. The class will meet once a week each Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the evening. The Master Gardener program provides Texas A&M developed training and instruction from Texas A&M University specialists and local area experts. Topics covered during the training will be landscaping, soil and soil amendments, plant development, entomology, plant diseases, pest control, vegetables and herbs, composting, fruits and nuts, rainwater harvesting, propagation, turf grasses and more. The volunteer requirements of the program will mean that you will be using your gardening skills and talents to give back our community. There will be a reduced registration fee of $150 before August 15. After that date the cost for the class will be $175.
