Mammograms for the Brazos Valley Day
May 11, 2013 All Day
Brazos Valley Council of Governments in Bryan
Pink Alliance is proud to announce that the inaugural Mammograms for the Brazos Valley Day will be held May 11, 2013, at the offices of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments in Bryan. This event offers local women the opportunity to receive mammograms free of charge. Pink Alliance invites uninsured women over the age of 40 who have never had a mammogram or have not had one in the past year to attend Mammograms for the Brazos Valley Day. These efforts aspire to assist those with limited means. Early detection is crucial in beating breast cancer; Pink Alliance hopes to spread this message and enable women, who would ordinarily not be able, to maintain proper breast health.
Pink Alliance is proud to host the mobile mammography unit from The Rose for this inaugural event in the Brazos Valley. The Breast Cancer screening services will be administered by Board Certified Radiologists from The Rose, an award winning breast health care center based in Houston. Women planning on attending this event need to correspond with Elizabeth Dickey, 979-774-4176, at the offices of Health For All to set up an appointment. Transportation will be available upon request.
The Mammograms for the Brazos Valley Day event is possible due to the American Cancer Society Yoplait So Good Initiative that was awarded to Pink Alliance recognizing their tireless efforts and dedication to breast health in the Brazos Valley. Much like the gracious financial support Pink Alliance receives from local businesses, family and friends every year, this grant allows Pink Alliance to assist women of the Brazos Valley in conquering breast cancer. Pink Alliance aspires to expand this gratuitous event to multiple times a year to reach as many women of the Brazos Valley as possible.
