Brazos County A&M Club Muster

Col. Mike Fossum ’80, NASA Astronaut, will speak at the 2013 Brazos County A&M Club Muster ceremony on April 21, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. The Brazos County A&M Club Muster will be held in the Bethancourt Grand Ballroom in the Texas A&M University Memorial Student Center.

The Brazos County A&M Club Muster ceremony will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the Memorial Student Center with a BBQ luncheon served at 12:30 p.m. and the Muster ceremony beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will be a special performance by members of the Texas A&M Singing Cadets and a bugler from the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. The Muster Reflections exhibit will also be on display from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Flag Room of the Memorial Student Center. To make your Muster reservations, please visit www.bcamc.org.

The Brazos County A&M Club works to establish and maintain scholarships for students attending Texas A&M University, and supports the Bryan-College Station community and The Association of Former Students. College Station's Exploring History Luncheon

The Exploring History Lunch Lecture Series is brought to you by the College Station Historic Preservation Committee and the Senior Advisory Committee. With 2013 being College Station's 75th birthday, the guest speakers have been invited to share their stories, especially as it pertains to the last 75 years (and beyond).

With the next luncheon being held February 20, 2013 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in College Station, in recognition of Black History Month, Mr. Wayne Sadberry will be the guest speaker.

Mr. Sadberry was a 2013 Honoree at the 12th Annual Appreciation Banquet presented by the African American National Heritage Society. Raised in Bryan, his family was among the first Black landowners in the Brazos Valley.

Mr. Sadberry will share the history of when Blacks became a part of the fast growing area "back in the day," the challenges they met and how they have become such an important part of our community today.


The luncheon is $5 per person and begins at 11:30 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, located at 2201 Earl Rudder Fwy South. Soul Food Luncheon

On Thursday, Feb. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. join the Lincoln Recreation Center for their Annual Soul Food Luncheon in celebration of African American History Month. The menu will consist of one meat, two vegetables and dessert at a cost of $8 a plate. Cash only.

Meat: Fried Chicken, Smothered Chicken or Pork Chops
Vegetables: Greens, Yams, Mac & Cheese, Black-eyed Peas or Green Beans
Dessert: Pound Cake or Cobbler
