World Rabies Day Vaccination Clinic at St. Francis Fest

Oct 6, 2012 10 AM - 2 PM

1101 Rock Prairie Rd. College Station, TX 77845
The Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Association in conjunction with the Sheltering Vets organization at the Texas A&M Vet School are holding a low cost rabies vaccination clinic in honor of World Rabies Day. This event is to be held in conjunction with Saint Francis Fest at the Saint Francis Episcopal Church in College Station. Rabies vaccines will be $10 and county tags will be $15. World Rabies Day is a global effort to raise awareness in support of animal and human rabies prevention. This day was set aside to educate people around the globe about the impact of rabies, how it can be prevented, and how to eliminate the sources that contribute to the death of 55,000 humans from rabies worldwide.
Each pet will also be given a free health examination performed by Aggie veterinary students under the supervision of a faculty clinician. Our goal is to vaccinate up to 300 dogs or cats in Bryan/College Station for rabies to protect both the animals and the people of the community. Second, the students aim to educate the public about basic animal health topics such as vaccination protocols, heartworm disease, and the advantages of spaying or neutering your pet.
