Jan 21, 2013 9 AM

Sadie Thomas Park: 120 Moss Street Bryan TX
On Monday, January 21, 2013 (MLK Day Observance), we will be hosting the 17th Annual Martin Luther King Freedom Walk. The event will take place at 9:00 a.m. at the Sadie Thomas Park (129 Moss Street) in Bryan. The walk will end at Kemp Elementary School (1601 W. MLK Street). Transportation will be provided back to Sadie Thomas Park at the conclusion of the program. In the event of inclement weather, the program will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Kemp Elementary School. This 17th annual event is to commemorate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by bringing the Brazos Valley community together to reflect on the principles such as courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility, and service for which Dr. King embodied. A tribute, featuring members of the community, will follow the walk.
In congratulatory efforts of the re-election of President Barack Obama, we will be previewing the Inauguration following the Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute at 11a.m., along with visiting booths from agencies around Brazos County. Lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Agnes Gray at (979) 492-1491 or by email at MLK_March@bvaadst.com.
