Brooklyn, NY -- New York City authorities are turning to a popular Web site to uncover any possible leads in the murder of a 16-year-old girl, whose strangled body was found in a trash bag.

Police in Brooklyn believe that Chanel Petro Nixon might have known - or possibly communicated online - with her killer.

Nixon's body was found in a trash bag dumped a mile from her home. Authorities say that when they found Nixon, her body was partially clothed, but there were no indications of sexual assault.

Investigators are now looking into conversations Nixon had on MySpace-dot-com, a Web site popular with teens. According to a family member, Nixon frequently chatted online.

Still, no one can yet piece together who would want to kill the high school student, who shocked family members say had a long, prosperous life ahead of her.
