There's another chance this week for Walker County residents to make their voices heard about the biggest construction project ever attempted in Texas.

A second town hall meeting to discuss the Trans-Texas Corridor will take place Wednesday at the Walker County Fairgrounds.

An open house will start at 5:00 p.m., with the hearing beginning at 6:30.

State officials called a second meeting in Walker County after a huge crowd turned out Wednesday, with most speaking out against the plan for the corridor.

One of the areas being considered would bring the Trans-Texas Corridor through Walker and Grimes Counties.

It is a proposed 4,000-mile network of superhighway toll roads, initiated six years ago by Gov. Rick Perry.

The TransTexas tollroad should not be in Brazos County. It would gobble up too much land, cost Texans too much, and ruin the natural beauty of the area. The toll should not be built in Texas at all. No! to the toll road.
