All of the students have the determination to work toward a college education, even if they might be lacking some of the resources to help them achieve. They have decided to help themselves through the AVID class, with support from their teachers and parents. They have tutors who come from Texas A&M and assist them with homework. They learn about careers and college life from these tutors. They also do community service projects such as helping teachers and collecting items for soldiers across the world.
