MADISON COUNTY - The Madison County Judge has ordered a burn ban into effect as of August 8th. The county cites lack of rainfall and hot, dry & windy conditions as triggers for the ban - which prohibits the burning of nearly all forms of combustible material outdoors.
Exceptions are provided for most types of gas-powered outdoor grilling and cooking. The sale and use of fireworks is also prohibited. Outdoor welding is now considered a hazard, and special restrictions are in place. You can read more about the restrictions linked in the document attached to this story.
Unless altered specifically by county or state officials, this ban will last for seven days from the date of issuance. You can read more about other local burn bans by clicking here.
