Special Needs Evacuees Coming to College Station

Texas A&M University's Reed Arena could be used as a shelter for special needs patients who evacuate in light of Hurricane Ike.

According to officials at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, six planes will leave Wednesday morning from Forth Worth, headed to Corpus Christi.

Once there, patients will be make the trip to College Station to ride out the storm. It is unknown how many people will take shelter here. We're told Reed Arena could be used as a shelter.

171 buses will also leave San Antonio for Galveston Tuesday night to pick up special needs patients there. At this time, it's not known where those buses are headed.
