One of the fallouts from the blackouts has been the inability to conduct banking transactions.
That is why many Brazos Valley banks, like Citizens State Bank, are going to great lengths to get back up and running.
With branches in Navasota, Somerville, and Caldwell, Citizens State Bank acted quickly to get generators so customers could have access to their money.
"We've been here before, three years ago and hopefully learned a little bit from it," Ben Flencher, the Citizens State Bank President said. "We felt like it was important for us to take the extra exercises to keep all our facilities opened so it's worked out well and I hope its been good for our customers."
Flencher says the ATM's at the Navasota and Caldwell locations are in operation. The Somerville bank has walk-in and drive-through service only.
