As many area shelters are emptied, one still going strong is Reed Arena.
Officials there say about 300 special needs patients are still at the arena, along with hundreds of public health service personnel, nursing assistants and med students. In total, there are about 750 people fed -- patients and staff -- at each meal.
As far as clothing needs, Reed officials have been coordinating with groups like the Salvation Army and Twin City Mission to fill their needs when it comes to clothing.
The A&M Student Government Association is also collecting at the Koldus building, and earlier Friday, dropped off a load of garments.
The military set up Reed as a shelter for the patients, and officials say they are using every corner of the facility to keep patients and staff.
