The first Tropical Depression of 2010 has formed in the Caribbean. A hurricane hunter aircraft was sent to investigate an area of thunderstorms showing signs of rotation 350 miles Southeast of Cozumel Mexico.
The system packed winds of 35 mph and is expected to strengthen further over the next couple of days.
A tropical depression is characterized by a closed area of low pressure and winds less than 39 mph.
