Jerry Moving Over Central Atlantic, Far From Land

MIAMI Tropical Storm Jerry is moving over the Atlantic Ocean about 1,240 miles (1995 kilometers) east of Bermuda and poses no immediate threat to land.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Monday afternoon that the storm had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph). Jerry is moving toward the east and forecasters say it is expected to begin moving erratically in coming days. Some increase in strength is forecast over the next day or so.

Jerry is the 10th tropical storm of the Atlantic season.
