Recap -- Burleson County Supercell 4/26/10

The chances for rain and thunderstorms only sat at a 20%. The moisture to work with was meager at best. But its that time of the year, and it was known that if a thunderstorm could get going along Monday's cold front, it could be strong to severe with large hail and strong, damaging winds.

However, as a supercell rolled south out of Milam County leaving behind heavy rain and up to 3/4" sized hail (penny sized) it quickly rooted itself into available moisture and began to spin. The outcome? A high based storm that prompted a tornado warning for Burleson County at 7:42pm. Luckily, no tornado ever made it to the ground as the storm pushed south towards Somerville and Snook...but there was hail along with high winds that later lead to reports of numerous trees and power lines being knocked to the ground.
