A swing and a miss for the Brazos Valley Wednesday -- rain-wise -- as our latest upper level system spread rain to either direction of the area. Another chance for scattered rain is in the forecast Thursday -- possibly along with a few strong thunderstorms.
Next Storm System / Brazos Valley Rain Chance
As our latest weather maker is drifting towards the Midwest Wednesday evening, our next one is currently creating cloud cover, rain, snow, and severe weather for parts of the Western United States.
The same system that is expected to move north of Texas on Thursday -- bringing up our rain chances -- prompted a few, rare tornado warnings in California Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Southerly winds remain breezy heading into Thursday -- which in turns adds warmer temperatures, higher moisture values, and an unstable air mass over the Brazos Valley. Daytime highs are expected to run into the upper 70s / few low 80s by the afternoon hours.
That moist air mass will eventually clash with a dry line / drier air mass by the middle to end of the afternoon. Throw in a few peeks of afternoon sunshine and rain / thunderstorm chances should be able to increase for pockets of the Brazos Valley.
