One dead after early morning shooting in Bryan

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Bryan police say one man is dead after an early morning shooting Tuesday.

The shooting happened in the 500 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. St. Police say they were called to the scene just before 4 a.m. According to authorities, a person was approached by two men and one pointed a gun at them. There was a confrontation and then an exchange of gunfire. Officers found a person with a gunshot wound near the call location when they arrived.

The victim was taken to CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan and was pronounced dead. No names have been publicly released at this time.

Bryan police say they believe the shooting was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger. No one has been arrested at this time and the homicide is currently under investigation.
