BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Firefighters had a busy Saturday afternoon containing a grass fire on the east side of Brazos County.

Chief Jason Ware with the Brazos County Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department said it took them more than 30 minutes to get the fire under control and around five acres burned including a hay field. This happened near Hardy Weedon Road and Lakefront Drive.

Fire officials say it was a controlled burn that got out of control. Firefighters did have some trouble accessing the site due to a creek bed and recent rains.
