Fire crews responded to a grass fire along Grassbur Road off FM 1179 Sunday afternoon. Roughly 25 acres burned following a controlled burn that got out of hand.(KBTX TV)

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Roughly 25 acres burned during a Sunday afternoon grass fire in east Brazos County.

Chief Jason Ware with the Brazos County Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department said a controlled burn got out of hand along Grassbur Road off FM 1179. It happened around 1 p.m.

Ware said fire crews from the Brazos County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department, Precinct 3 and Precinct 4 responded to the call. He said no structures were burned and no one was injured.

This is the second controlled burn that has gotten out of hand this weekend in east Brazos County. Saturday, about five acres burned near Hardy Weedon Road and Lakefront Drive.
