Warmer weather in store ahead of a midweek cold front
Additional sunshine takes us into the beginning of the first full week of 2021
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - After a beautiful New Year’s Weekend across the Brazos Valley, high pressure will allow the sunshine to stick around into the first full week of 2021 before a cold front moves in Wednesday.
Warmer weather is in store both Monday and Tuesday afternoon with daytime highs headed for the 70 degree mark, which is around 10 degrees above average for this time of year! Changes start to filter in Tuesday night in the form of additional cloud cover as a southeasterly breeze works a bit more Gulf moisture back into the Brazos Valley.
Eyes turn to the northwest Wednesday as a low pressure system develops and moves off of the Rockies, dragging a cold front through Texas that currently looks to reach the Brazos Valley Wednesday afternoon. As this front passes through, moisture ahead of the system will spark up a rain chance throughout the day as well as a few thunderstorms.
The front then looks to quickly clear things out for the back half of the week, with more sunshine and cooler temperatures in store by next weekend.
