BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - New cases are increasing in most parts of the country as a winter surge affects the United States into 2021.

Using data from the Brazos County Health District and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the trendlines and slopes for the increasing new cases can be calculated for the county, state, and country.

Texas new cases are increasing at the highest rate (x = 0.874). Brazos County is a close second (x = 0.855). The U.S.’s new cases are increasing, but less severely (x = 0.322).
