BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - After a cold front pushed through the state Thursday, gusty winds picked up across the Brazos Valley. A peak wind gust of 29 mph was reported at Easterwood Airport.

The National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY for the following counties between 9am and 6pm Friday:

Milam • Robertson • Leon

More Brazos Valley counties are anticipated to have the same advisory issued at some point Thursday evening or in the early hours of Friday morning.

Friday’s sustained (constant) wind is expected between 15 and 20mph through the day. Peak wind gusts of 30 to 35mph will be common for most of the Brazos Valley. 40mph peak gusts are not ruled out across the north and northeastern reaches of the area.

IMPACTS: Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around in the wind. Secure loose lawn items and bring the empty trash cans in from the sidewalk. Driving on area roadways may become difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
