Hearne seeing new business growth in 2021
Small businesses are expanding into the Robertson County community.
HEARNE, Texas (KBTX) - Hearne is seeing new business pickup in 2021.
From t-shirt businesses to vehicle parts and repair, new life is coming to Downtown Hearne and Highway 6.
In Downtown three sisters have opened Small Town Society Apparel Company. Renovations on the building are under way with the inside opening to the public this summer. The company sells t-shirts and other apparel and has a large online presence.
O’Reilly Auto Parts is also under construction on Highway 6 and land was recently cleared for the city’s new 86 acre industrial park. New small businesses like Precision Hail and Collision opened this spring.
“The town of Hearne is very welcoming,” said Oscar Cardenas, Precision Hail and Collision Owner.
Cardenas is expanding his family-owned business based in the Dallas Fort Worth area with the new location in Hearne as well as in Bryan. According to Cardenas, there’s a lot of reasons for expanding his business into the area.
“A lot of visibility, exposure and of course the community’s growing so we do a lot of work with our insurance partners and they have a need out here,” said Cardenas.
“I think it’s a great plus for Hearne. We need some activity and more businesses coming in. We’ve got some good opportunities on both ends of town now that’ll be coming in,” said Dana Altimore, president of the Hearne Chamber of Commerce and owner of motorcycle shop GenRev Cycles.
“It’s going to to be a really good year for us, things are going to turnout real well,” said Altimore.
“We’re really preparing for growth. We’ve done a lot of street work, continued a lot with water and sewer and even parks so we’ve kind of hit all the major areas that we need just to attract residents here and companies,” said John Naron, Hearne City Manager.
