United Way of the Brazos Valley reaches $1.5 million fundraising goal
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - United Way of the Brazos Valley has raised $1.5 million dollars for the 2020-2021 Community Fundraising Campaign.
The funds raised every year are reinvested into the Brazos Valley through several nonprofits, charities, and investment initiatives like 2-1-1 Texas, Youth Leadership Cabinets and Early Literacy programs.
In the last year as COVID-19 created challenges for those in our community, the United Way met even more needs.
Despite unusual fundraising strategies this year, campaign chair Amber Cox says the United Way team, local businesses, and residents stepped up to help reach their goal.
“We just say a huge thank you to all the donors whether you bought a brownie at a bake sale that a company was having. Whether you gave a dollar or a thousand dollars every bit of it combines together, it’s going to make a huge difference in the lives here in Brazos Valley,” said Cox.
Cox says Caldwell Country Chevrolet donated the last $15,000 to get them to the $1.5 million.
