COVID in Context: Texas has seen 768 breakthrough infections, 9% in Brazos Valley/CenTex region

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Through June 1, municipal and regional health districts have reported 768 breakthrough COVID-19 infections to the state of Texas.
A breakthrough infection is defined as a positive COVID-19 infection in a person who has been fully vaccinated for the virus.
Of the 768 cases, 35 percent were asymptomatic while 8 percent were hospitalized.
The cases are also identified by the Public Health Region in which they occurred.

Brazos County is included in PHR 7 with most Brazos Valley and Central Texas counties (see pink region below). PHR 7 is responsible for 68 of the 768 breakthrough cases.
