HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KBTX) - Sam Houston State University student, Karla Moreno, has been appointed as a member of the American College Health Association’s national Co-VAC Initiative Student Engagement Committee.

She will serve as a student representative for the State of Texas Higher Education, making Sam Houston the only university in the state with representation on the committee.

The goal for the committee is to get a 100% percent vaccination rate on all campuses across the nation.

Moreno is a first-generation student and public health major. She says she wants to become a family nurse practitioner and hopes serving on this committee is a great opportunity to help others while preparing her for the healthcare workforce.
