BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Brazos County Judge Duane Peters has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a release from the Office of the County Judge. He is now under quarantine at home.

Peters attended Commissioners Court on Tuesday, his test results were confirmed on Wednesday.

“In consultation with my doctor, I made the personal decision not to receive the vaccine for COVID-19,” said Peters. “I stand by that decision, and respect each individual’s right to make that choice based on their own medical histories and beliefs.”

According to his office his symptoms are mild and he expects to be back at work as soon as the quarantine period is over.
