COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - First Financial Bank CEO Ivan Olson is celebrating his retirement after years of serving the Brazos Valley.

Olson says he has served on numerous boards for nonprofits and other organizations during his career. He celebrated his achievements Thursday evening at Pebble Creek Country Club surrounded by family, coworkers, and friends.

He says it will be difficult to no longer see everyone at work every day, but is excited for this next chapter.

“I have always enjoyed going in to work and helping people, getting paid to help people, and that is what we do. I have had a very rewarding career, and I am going to miss it,” said Olson.

One of his clients, Claudette Beyer, flew down from Washington to celebrate him. She says he took a chance on her and her company years ago, and now that company is in more than 60 countries and thriving.

“He is a wonderful banker, a great husband, a good father, and a good grandfather, and friend of legions of people and I am honored to be one of them,” said Beyer.

Olson says his last day with the bank will be June 30.
