COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station Noon Lion’s Club is putting together the final details of its I Love America celebration.

The event is in its 61st year, but will look a bit different. The event’s co-chair, Katina Osth, says they’re excited to continue the event in a new way, after having to cancel it last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Typically, this event takes place at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library, but it was moved this year.

Starting at 2 p.m. Saturday July 3, multiple local vendors, food trucks and performers will be at Wolf Pen Creek Park in College Station. The event is free, and will run until 10 p.m.

There will be kids arts and crafts, along with the movie “Miracle” shown at 7 p.m., followed up by a laser light show from 9:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

Osth says they are finishing up the final touches on the different parts of the event.

“Even though we are at a different location, we are still hoping to give back to the community, make a fun event for a few hours to come and eat some hot dogs, some drinks, walk around do some games, do some art, see some performers,” said Osth.

The Salvation Army is also hosting a donation drop off near the Senior Center at the park from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
