BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A man has been convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child by a Brazos County Jury on Wednesday.

43-year-old Donald Mims was sentenced to life in prison by the same jury and received a $10,000 fine. According to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office, Mims was already serving a 45-year prison sentence for multiple drug dealing convictions. Mims was sentenced to those 45 years in 2021 by Judge Kyle Hawthorne.

After the sentencing, Hawthorne ordered that the Life Sentence be “stacked” onto the 45 years.

The District Attorney’s Office said a woman told police back in 2021 that Mims had been abusing her when she was 12-years-old in 2013, and that the abuse continued into her adult years until she was 20, which is when she filled the report.
