Madison County deputies investigating accidental shooting involving minor

NORTH ZULCH, Texas (KBTX) - A North Zulch mother is in the hospital recovering following a weekend shooting involving a minor.
The incident happened Sunday around 1:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Shepherd Hill.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office confirms to KBTX that the 24-year-old woman was accidentally shot in the abdominal region and taken to the hospital in a helicopter.
The sheriff says there was no threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
No other details were immediately shared about the incident including the age of the minor, how the minor obtained the firearm, or where specifically the shooting occurred.
