No. 6 College Station cruises past Lockhart
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station Cougars dominated the Lockhart Lions 56-10 in their final home game of regular season.
Cougar quarterback Cade Corcoran threw six touchdown passes, tying the single-game school record previously set by Jett Huff.
Aydan Martinez-Brown caught two of the touchdown throws and ran for two more all within in the first half.
“We were better than they were but they were competing very, very hard,” said College Station head coach Stoney Pryor. “Made it a pretty physical game, a pretty emotional game. I was pleased being up 35-3 at half is a good place to be and finishing the game out.”
Stand out wide receiver Zak Cosser exited the game in the fourth quarter after taking a hard hit. Cosser was stretchered off the field, giving a thumbs up on the way out.
“He is doing well. He was alert and moving all of his fingers and toes and talking with the trainers, doctors and the EMT’s,” Pryor said. “It was a scary scene. It is a physical sport and that was just a hit that happens sometimes.”
The Cougars have a short week and will play their final game of the regular season on Thursday at Pflugerville Weiss.
