Beloved family meat market in Bryan sold to Dean & Peeler

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -For more than six decades, a local meat market and deli has been a cornerstone of the Bryan community, serving generations of families with quality products and trusted service.

Now, after 66 years of dedication to their craft and their customers, the Ruffino family has announced they have sold Readfield Meats & Deli on Texas Avenue to Dustin Dean and Jason Peeler of Dean & Peeler.

Brothers Richard, Larry, and Roland Ruffino made the bittersweet decision to retire, ending a legacy that began with their parents.

The family says it’s time to step back and focus on what matters most: spending quality time with loved ones.

“We’re grateful for every customer who walked through our doors over the years,” the brothers reflected on their decision. “It’s been an honor to serve this community, and now it’s time for us to enjoy the next chapter with our families.”
