Montgomery County sheriff seeks man linked to 15+ gated community burglaries

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 35-year-old man connected to more than 15 home burglaries targeting gated communities across the county.
Jose Ignacio Venegas Nieto, who also goes by Fernando Rodriguez, has two active warrants for engaging in organized criminal activity.
He is described as a Hispanic male with a tattoo of the name “Lilian” on his left forearm.
Investigators believe Nieto is part of an international organized crime ring tied to a series of burglaries across the United States. More recent cases have been reported in Southeast Texas and surrounding areas.

The sheriff’s office said it is working with local, state, and federal partners to find Nieto and his known associates.
Anyone who sees Nieto should call 911 and not approach or attempt to detain him.
