BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Former Texas A&M edge rusher and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller hosted his seventh annual Gig ‘Em Gala to support his foundation, Von’s Vision, at the Stella Hotel.

Founded in 2013, Von’s Vision is the personal charity of the Texas A&M legend. The mission of Von’s Vision is to provide low-income Texas A&M students with the eye care and corrective eyewear they need to be their best in the classroom and in life.

While in Aggieland, Miller gave his thoughts on the direction of Texas A&M football with the spring game on Saturday.

“I wasn’t coached by Coach Elko, but it feels like it,” Miller said. “Got a lot of buddies that coach on that team. Tony Jerod-Eddie’s done a great job. Has so many defensive ends get drafted. So to stay involved from that perspective is huge. And just to see the program grow to be one of the best in the country. It’s an honor and a privilege to be a part of that for sure.“

The Washington Commanders linebacker has a busy weekend in the Lone Star State. On Saturday, Miller will be inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco.

“Texas is so big,” Miller said. “So many people have played sports here in the state of Texas. To get inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame is just crazy. I’m blown away by it.”

The Aggie won the Butkus Award in 2010 and was a consensus All-American. He was the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos.
