One killed in garbage truck crash on Highway 60

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - One person has died following a single-vehicle crash involving a garbage truck on Highway 60 near Old Jones Road, just west of Easterwood Airport.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the individual was transported to a local hospital following the accident and later succumbed to their injuries.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation as local officials continue to gather details.

While emergency response activity did cause slowdowns in the area, drivers are still able to get by.
