Hello! I want to start by helping those wondering-- my name is pronounced (On-Jo-Nae). I'm so excited to be able to bring you all the latest content happening in the Brazos Valley.
This is my second year at KBTX, and I couldn't be more excited. I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas before beginning my college journey. I received my Associate of Arts degree from Coastal Bend College in Beeville, TX, after playing basketball for two years. From there, I went on to Lindenwood University in Belleville, IL, where I received a basketball scholarship and my Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications/Broadcasting. After undergrad, I took a year off and surprisingly was a teacher for that year, until I started grad school at Texas Southern in Houston (I LOVE MY HBCU!). While at TxSU I gained the most amazing mentor, who worked and taught me a lot of what I use now in the Newsroom.
About half a year into grad school, I earned a News Reporter internship at "KTSU2", which is TxSU's student ran radio station. After two months, I was moved up to "KTSU 90.9," the Houston radio station housed on campus. I did on air broadcast everyday until Covid-19 came along. The short stall in my career caused by Covid, caused me to look into other career opportunities in a TV newsroom, which is how I ended up here at KBTX. I'm forever grateful for this opportunity, working my dream job as a PRODUCER.
