BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -The City of Bryan says it is working hard to get people back to work and help businesses continue operating. Small businesses that have been affected by the pandemic can apply for the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

The grant provides working capital funds up to $30,000 to retain or create jobs for low to moderate-income employees, among other qualifications. Alsie Bond, Community Development Manager with the City of Bryan, says the city highly encourages businesses to apply.

“If a business that’s been affected by COVID can prove that, they can receive up to $30,000 depending on how many employees they have,” said Bond.
