Katerina Biancardi joined the KBTX News team in May 2019 as a reporter.
A 2018 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Katerina is a proud Longhorn launching her broadcasting career in Aggieland.
Born in Boston to two college coaches as parents, Katerina moved all around the country with stops in Columbus & Dayton, Ohio, St. Louis, and Charlotte.
While Kat comes from outside the Lone Star State, her family roots run deep in the Brazos Valley. Kat’s mother is native Texan from Hearne and also a Longhorn. She is thrilled to be a part station her grandparents and family members regularly watch.
At Texas, she was involved with student-produced-tv-station. TSTV gave Kat priceless opportunities to report on UT sports. She received the Arch Campbell scholarship to co-produce a sports documentary on a youth wheelchair basketball team’s first bid to the National Wheelchair Basketball Association National Tournament. Kat interned at ESPN’s Longhorn Network, where she learned invaluable production and social media experience for a national network.
One of her favorite experiences in broadcasting is when Katerina worked the sideline during Bleacher Report’s first live broadcast. Former Heisman winner and Aggie, Johnny Manizel, made his comeback to the gridiron in April 2018.
While sports is her passion, Katerina is enthused to join the BVTM team, and share all the fun-loving stories of the Brazos Valley.
In her free time, Kat loves exercising, entertaining, and watching her beloved Boston sports team and Longhorns. Her family resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.
